Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera

T he Lamborghini Gallardo made it’s debut 2003, officially under Audi ownership, and sold better than any previous Lambo, over 14,000 examples were built. One might say it helped “save Lamborghini”. The company histroically was producing around 250 cars per year, but after the Gallardo was announced, that number grew significnalty, to around 2,000 cars per year.

The Superleggera reduced weight (Italian for Superlight), added firmer suspension with shocks/anti-roll bars and made more power. The sprint to 0-62mph took just 3.4 seconds, and 0-124mph took just 10.2s, with a top speed of 202mph.  And one might say it looks best in Borealis Metallic Orange

Services Performed

This Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera received:

  • Hand Wash
  • Elite Full Detail
Lots of carbon, weight savings, and a beautiful V10

The Gallardo’s 5.2-liter V-10 growls out another 10 more hp in the Superleggera than in the LP560-4, thanks to some additional engine management. This Superleggera featured  Lamborghini’s e-gear automated manual transmission, which has three modes: Normal and Corsa are automatic, but a manual sport mode uses only the paddle shifters. Launch control drops the clutch at 5000 rpm and lets you experience full power and acceleration.  To shave a claimed 154 pounds, Lamborghini used carbon fiber for the engine-cover, mirrors, rear spoiler, side skirts, diffuser and many of the interior bits. They even claimed the use of Alcantara over leather was a weight-saving measure. A set of  19-inch forged aluminum wheels, titanium lug nuts and Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires save 29 pounds.

This Gallardo came in for a full detail in and out, and we were happy to oblige. The Borealis Metallic Orange paint was already in impeccable condition, so it did not take much to get this car looking like new once again!
